A Therapeutic Awakening
“Painting has been a therapeutic journey for me,” shares Lismore. “After being told I couldn’t paint for most of my life, I started again during a difficult period, and it’s been transformative. These pieces are not just art—they are imprints of my mind, my emotions, and my story.”
Spurred by a suggestion from his therapist, Lismore returned to painting, confronting years of self-doubt instilled during his school years. What began as an experimental exercise quickly evolved into an outpouring of creativity, culminating in the production of 300 artworks in just four days. This raw collection, later titled ‘4 Days’ upon the suggestion of the iconic Marina Abramović, forms the foundation of the exhibition.
Themes of Love, Loss, and Identity
Lismore’s second body of work, Thoughtscapes, developed over the past year, delves into themes of love, loss, and human identity. These paintings blend abstract forms with vivid storytelling, challenging traditional aesthetics and offering a glimpse into the artist’s chaotic yet beautiful creative mind.
Inspired by visionaries like Picasso, Basquiat, and Hockney, the pieces reflect Lismore’s relentless drive for self-expression and innovation. They invite viewers to explore a world where emotion and artistry collide.
The Unveiling of ‘Lismore Red’
As a highlight of the exhibition, Lismore will unveil his signature paint, Lismore Red. This bold creation is the result of a collaboration with Stuart Semple and Culture Hustle, known for redefining art materials. Semple and Lismore have worked together to craft a paint as daring and distinctive as the artist himself.
A limited-edition batch of Lismore Red will debut at the launch event on December 12th. This exclusive release gives collectors and art enthusiasts a rare chance to own a piece of this vibrant collaboration.
