DI PETSA SS27 “HOLY MILK” Explores Motherhood, Ritual and Rebirth

by | Sep 22, 2026

For Spring/Summer 2027, Dimitra Petsa transforms motherhood into a surreal language of ritual, sensuality and self-creation.

On Monday, September 21, 2026, DI PETSA presented HOLY MILK, its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, in London—a dreamlike exploration of motherhood, transformation and the rituals surrounding the body.

At its heart, HOLY MILK considers motherhood not only as the act of giving birth to another life, but as an ongoing process of becoming. Dimitra Petsa turns inward, exploring the idea of giving birth to oneself and carrying the many selves that emerge as we grow, change and evolve.

“We are pregnant with our own self. We give birth to different versions of ourselves when we grow too large inside us to be hidden and then again will be reborn.”

This idea of self-mothering becomes the foundation of the collection. Drawing on the mythology and symbolism surrounding milk as maternal, erotic, spiritual and transformative, Petsa positions it as both intimate substance and connection to the wider natural world.

The collection’s visual language moves through white, translucency, lace, draping and luminosity, creating an atmosphere that feels at once sacred and sensual. Bridal silhouettes appear alongside fluid, body-conscious forms, while liquid surfaces and exposed skin introduce a more visceral tension.

White is punctuated by deep blue, black and liquid gold, shifting the collection between purity, sensuality and drama.

Styled by Ramona Tabita, the looks balance pared-back exposure with elaborate adornment. Bare skin meets draped jersey, delicate lace, translucent layers and sculptural forms, while dramatic bridal volumes contrast with silhouettes that closely follow the body.

AWE INSPIRED × DI PETSA

For SS27, DI PETSA collaborated with Awe Inspired, the show’s Official Jewelry Partner, on a jewellery collection created in dialogue with the world of HOLY MILK.

Pearls, stones, chains and sun motifs appear across layered necklaces, sculptural chokers, cascading earrings and body pieces. The jewellery becomes more than an accessory; it functions as an extension of the body and another element of the collection’s visual language.

Awe Inspired’s distinctive “WET” pieces echo Petsa’s longstanding fascination with water and the fluidity of the body. Suspended forms sit against the skin, bringing movement and luminosity to the looks, while heavier chains and sculptural pieces introduce a more ceremonial quality.

Throughout the presentation, jewellery is worn directly against the body and integrated into the silhouettes, falling across the décolletage, framing the face and tracing the figure.

The collaboration will launch commercially in March 2027, following its debut on the DI PETSA SS27 runway in London.

THE PERFORMANCE

Following DI PETSA’s recent theatre production at The Barbican, HOLY MILK continues Petsa’s exploration of the space where fashion, ritual and performance art intersect.

The runway becomes a surreal dreamscape of transformation, creation and rebirth. Garments move through a living ritual centred on milk and water, with mothers, pregnant models and models carrying glasses of milk becoming part of the presentation itself.

One of the show’s defining pieces is a sculptural lactating bra, which releases streams of milk during the performance. The provocative design places an intimate act associated with motherhood and care within the highly constructed environment of the fashion runway.

Rather than treating clothing as an isolated object, HOLY MILK presents fashion as part of a larger ritual—one concerned with motherhood, self-creation and the continual process of becoming and being reborn.
