Jacob Elordi: Why His Haircut Is the Most Searched

by | Sep 30, 2026

Men are increasingly looking to recreate Jacob Elordi’s relaxed, grown-out hairstyle, according to new search analysis by the world’s leading AI-powered booking platform for beauty and wellness, Fresha.

Fresha analysed Google search data and found searches for “Jacob Elordi haircut” have surged 2,838% in the past year, with around 2,000 searches made in the past month.

Searches for “Jacob Elordi hair” have risen 349% year on year, reaching 6,000 searches in the past month, while searches for “Jacob Elordi” overall are up 280%, with 1.2 million searches recorded last month.

The interest reflects a shift away from ultra-sharp fades and heavily styled quiffs, towards longer, softer hair with natural movement.

Hair & beauty expert Danielle Louise, on the Fresha app, explains how men can get the look without leaving the barber with a cut that only works in the chair.

Danielle Louise says:

“The appeal of Jacob Elordi’s hair is that it looks relaxed and lived-in rather than perfectly styled. There is movement around the face, softness through the top and enough length for the hair to fall naturally without looking untidy.

It is a good example of a style that looks effortless, but the cut is doing a lot of the work. Men often think they can just grow their hair out, but if everything grows at the same length, it can quickly look heavy at the sides and flat on top.”

What to ask your barber for

Danielle recommends asking for a medium-length, layered cut, with a softer finish and no harsh fade.

“You want to keep length through the fringe and crown so the hair can sweep back or fall into a loose side part. The sides should be scissor-cut and left slightly longer around the ears and temples, rather than taken too tight.

Ask your barber to remove internal weight and add subtle layers. This gives the hair movement and stops it sitting like one solid block. Someone with thick hair may need more bulk removed, while finer hair needs more careful layering to avoid it looking thin.”

The exact length will depend on texture, hairline and face shape, but Danielle says men should generally aim for around four to six inches through the top before expecting the style to sit properly.

The styling routine

The key to the look is avoiding anything too stiff, shiny or perfect.

Danielle says:

“Start with towel-dried hair and use a small amount of sea-salt spray or lightweight styling cream. Push the hair away from the face with your hands as you dry it, rather than brushing it into a very neat shape.

If you use a hairdryer, dry the roots in the direction you want the hair to sit. Finish with a tiny amount of matte paste or cream through the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid heavy waxes or gels, especially at the roots, because that is what makes longer hair look greasy or collapse.”

For men who usually wear their hair forward, Danielle says it can take time to train it back.

“Hair has a memory. If you have always styled it down over your forehead, it may take a few weeks of consistently drying it back before it starts sitting naturally. The goal is not to make it look overly styled. It should look like you have good hair rather than like you have spent an hour doing it.”

How to maintain it

Growing hair out does not mean skipping barber appointments.

Danielle recommends a tidy-up every six to eight weeks to keep the shape intentional.

“You are not taking lots of length off, but you are maintaining the layers, removing excess weight and preventing the ends from looking damaged. Longer men’s hair also needs conditioner. If the hair is dry, it will not have that soft movement people want from this style.

Use Jacob Elordi’s hair as inspiration, not a blueprint. The best version of the look will work with your own texture, density and hairline. A good barber will be able to adapt it so it feels natural on you.”
